Discussion Group

• The email-based discussion group for Friends of the Legacy Project is open to any interested persons. Topics include, but are not limited to, the Moore Method and Inquiry-Based Learning. There are settings for controlling your subscription via the web.

Education

• Project NExT, a national program for new or recent Ph.D's in the mathematical sciences who are interested in improving the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics.  The Legacy of R.L. Moore Project is a supporter of Project NExT.
  
  
• The Discovery Learning Project at the University of Texas at Austin promotes the development and use of discovery or inquiry-based methods of teaching and learning. It is supported by the Educational Advancement Foundation.
  
  
• At the University of California, Santa Barbara, the Department of Mathematics Center for Mathematical Inquiry is devoted to the "continued development of inquiry-based learning approaches in the teaching of mathematics and the continued development of a research base that examines teaching and learning through inquiry-based practices." It is supported by the Educational Advancement Foundation.
  
  
• The Mathematical Association of America’s Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics has developed the CUPM Curriculum Guide 2004. Its extensive list of Illustrative Resources includes Inquiry-Based Learning references and the Moore Method in particular. See, for example, Part I, Section 2 "Develop mathematical thinking and communications skills".
  
  
• MathNerds provides free inquiry-based question-and-answer support in mathematics through a volunteer network of more than one hundred mathematicians.
• The Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics includes more than 1800 pages of inquiry-based course materials available for download and use.
  
  
• Emory University Libraries has created a research resource on R. L. Moore and the "Moore Method" in its collection of subject and course guides.
  
  
• The UTeach program at the University of Texas at Austin is a partnership of the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Education and the Austin Independent School District, and provides teacher education intended to increase the number and diversity of competent mathematics, science, and computer science students entering the teaching field and assuming positions of educational leadership in their fields. The Educational Advancement Foundation has been a supporter of UTeach.

History

• The Archives of American Mathematics at the Center for American History, The University of Texas at Austin, includes the R.L. Moore Papers and the Legacy oral history collection.  It is supported through funding provided by the Mathematical Association of America and the Legacy of R.L. Moore Project.
  
  
• Mathematics Genealogy Project provides information on the doctoral supervising professor and students of any mathematician.
  
  
• The Smithsonian American History Museum treats the history of teaching mathematics in America.
